This invention relates to a composition which comprises as an insect attractant (Z)-11-hexadecenyl acetate in admixture or conjunction with one or more carrier(s), a method of treatment of an area which comprises exposing the area to the influence of (Z)-11-hexadecenyl acetate or a composition of the invention and the use of (Z)-11- hexadecenyl acetate or a composition of the invention for population control purposes. The invention is particularly directed to the control of the cabbage moth Mamestra brassicae. |
