LOW POWER OPTICAL POINTING APPARATUS AND PERSONAL PORTABLE DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A low power optical pointing device and a personal portable terminal equipped with the same are provided to precisely recognize motion of an object with small radiation of intensity and minimize current consumption by using a low luminous light source. A transparent cover plate(100) has a central reading area(110) to be touched by the object(F). An EL(ElectroLuminescence) sheet(200) radiates light to the object touched to the cover plate while outputting the light by receiving power. An optical guide(300) collects the light by guiding the light reflected from the object to a predetermined direction. An ultra sensitive image sensor(400) detects change from the light output from the optical guide and converts the change into an electric signal. The EL sheet is arranged along a circumference excluding the central reading area while being arranged under a bottom side of the cover plate.
