Compression coupling for pressurised pipes - has compression gasket to protect profiled pipe ends which are tightened by threaded sleeve

The compression coupling for high pressure pipes (7) has the end of the pipe rolled into a nipple (22) so that it can be pressed into the seal by a threaded sleeve (23). The end of the sleeve has a stepped profile (9) to engage a seal insert (16) which provides sloping seal surface and which is clipped into the coupling. The sloping seal surface provides a seal over a wide range of compression forces, without any danger of over-tightening and straining the seal. The coupling can be opened and resealed a large number of times without danger of leaks.
