The engine has a fuel injection pump which has a quantity regulator controlled by an electronic circuit. A tachometer provides an input to an amplifier and switching circuit, which receives a second input from the accelerator. The resulting output is amplified and combined with a feedback signal before being fed to the regulator. A schmitt trigger receives an amplified signal from the tachometer. It operates a relay which cuts the fuel supply if overspeeding occurs. A second trigger has an input from the feedback signal. It operates a relay which cuts the fuel supply in the event of excessive load.
