The water flow control for a washing machine, where part of the water is heated by solar energy, has >=1 mixer valve in the water feed linking the cold water supply and the feed from the solar-heated water. If the water temp. from the solar-heated source is above the required level, then the valve adds more cold water to the flow. The system prevents water entering the washing machine at higher temps. than desired. There is a comparator circuit to register the water temp. at the outlet of the mixing valve so that, according to a pre-set level, it can operate the mixing valve by an adjustment motor to increase the cold water supply. There can be a number of water feeds, and the valve control can be operated magnetically or thermostatically on pre-set required temp. levels.
