Furniture surface working machine giving hand-finished effect - has pneumatically operated plane blade mounted on sliding frame

The furniture surfaces are made deliberately irregular by using an adze to give an old-world appearance when furniture was made by craftsmen. A machine working more rapidly and with less effort has a plane blade mounted on the end of the piston rod of a pneumatic cylinder. The latter is mounted on a frame with rollers which run on parallel rails. The length of the cut-out of the workpiece is adjusted by controlling the stroke of the cylinder and parallel cuts are produced as the frame is pushed along the rails.
