<p>PURPOSE:To improve ratio of contact with raw water and to prevent plugging- up of screens by use of a filler material which can move in waste water so that no fixed wall is present. CONSTITUTION:A soft sheet member of strip members or cord members capable of floating in water are fixed at one end to a fixing member, over the longitudinal extension of the fixing member, to form a unit filler. Plural unit fillers, with the fixing member down, are arranged with regular intervals therebetween to form a filler material which is used together with microbes for treatment of waste water. Different from the prior art in which fixed walls are used, the filler material can contact the raw water so well that plugging-up of screens can be prevented even when a very large amount of microbes is deposited on the surfaces of the filler material. Filling work is very easy even when the installation area is reduced and the height of the filler portion is increased.</p> |
