The invention relates to a novel structure for a skate boot made of a synthetic material. In order to provide flexibility in the ankle area of such boots, the boots are constructed of an upper shell and a lower shell. The lower shell consists of the heel, toe and sole portions of the boot, and the upper shell is movably attached to the lower shell and placed so that it surrounds the ankle of a wearer. In prior art arrangements, the upper shell is pivoted by rivets at two points on either side of the boot, and this arrangement is inconvenient in that it is not removable because of its use of rivets. In accordance with the present invention, the upper shell is removably attached to the lower shell by a button and buttonhole arrangement. In one embodiment, it is so connected at the rear of the boot. The novel boot also contains a reinforcing layer at the sole and toe portions of the boot.
|
