Used lubricating oil regeneration by sulphuric acid treatment - with degassing before treatment with decolourising earth

Regeneration of used lubricating oils is carried out by (a) treating with H2SO4, (b) sepg. the oil phase from the acid sludge, (c) degassing the oil phase, and (d) treating with a decolorising earth. Step (c) prevents corrosion of the decolorising vessel without addn. of alkali, and improves the colour of the prod.
