An elastomeric gasket 10 comprises a flat rubber piece 12 and a reinforcing core 14 embedded in said flat rubber piece, said reinforcing core being a weft-knitted or warp-knitted fabric, and being disposed substantially centrally in said rubber piece and coextensive therewith. The knitted fabric core 14 is such that, since the threads constituting the core 14 are looped into stitches that are interconnected, they are prevented from being pulled out at the screw holes even if they are caught by the screws while the latter are being threaded into place. In use the gasket may be disposed between interconnected frame members of a door or window. <IMAGE> |
