A rope tensioner consists of a reel 11 for winding up slack of a rope 12 which is to be tensioned, and a lock 29, 30 arranged on the reel for securing a first rope part 12B, which extends in one direction from the reel and, after deflection, returns to the reel, and also a rope lock 28 arranged on the reel for securing a second rope part 12C which extends in the opposite direction from the reel. Also located on the reel 11 is a member 27A for deflecting by essentially 180 that portion 12BB of the first rope part 12B returned to the reel, and a further rope lock 20-23 for securing said returned portion 12BB, preferably the deflected part thereof, against longitudinal movement in relation to the reel 11. <IMAGE> |
