PURPOSE:To increase effective corners and improve blade strength by adopting a regular tetrahedron as basic shape, making each surface convex, and providing a fitting hole in the center of each surface. CONSTITUTION:Each surface 2 of throwaway tip 1 of a regular tetrahedron structure is made convex. Fitting hole 3 is provided in the center of each surface 2. In this structure, there are 6 arc-shaped intersections of two surfaces 2, 2, analogous to blades, and there are four intersections of three surfaces 2, 2, 2, analogous to milling cutter angles. Thus, a larger number of effective corners can be obtained compared with conventional acute angle corners and the blade strength can be increased. |
