<p>A connector device for sheathed optical fibres 1, 3 comprises a double- inlet collar 5 provided with a central abutment formed with a through-bore 7 receiving a stone ring 8. Ferrules 9, 10 are applied by gluing to the optical fibre sheaths and the fibre ends project through bores in the ferrule ends to locate within the central bore of ring 8. The fibres are thus accurately aligned and they are urged to contact or the correct spacing, defined by ring 8, by a spring 13 within a tightenable nut 11. <IMAGE></p> |
