PURPOSE:To obtain a steel plate with high damping capacity-vibration decay power which plate reduces vibration and noise when used as a material for a machine, structure, etc., by subjecting a ferritic stainless steel plate contg. Cr>=7% to repeated cold rolling at a specific reuction ratio and annealing. CONSTITUTION:A Fe-Cr steel contg. Cr>=7% and other various components contained in a ferritic stainless steel plate is hot rolled and primarily cold rolled at a reduction ratio above 30%, e.g. 50%. The Fe-Cr steel includes an iron-chromium alloy consisting of Cr; 15.1%, C; 0.03%, Mn.; 0.33%, S; 0.008%, Al; 0.52%, and the balance Fe and impurities. The cold rolled plate is subsequently subjected to primary annealing at above 750 deg.C for above 5 min, e.g. at 800 deg.C for 10 hr, secondary cold rolling at a reduction ratio of 5-30%, e.g. 20%, and secondary annealing at above 750 deg.C for above 5 min, e.g. at 800 deg.C for 10 hr, thus obtaining a ferritic stainless steel plate with superior damping capacity. |
