<p>The transmission system is designed to increase the number of phase steps in a simple manner and to increase transmission rate. The modulation signal consists of binary coded words which are replaced by phase difference modulated signals comprising sequences of digital sinusoidal samples. A sample memory stores the digital samples in the form of pages each having a given number of lines. The memory is addressed by a page selection circuit controlled by the modulation signal and by a line addressing circuit. The number of pages is given by 2K, where K is the number of bits per word (e.g. K=3).</p> |
