Novel zootechnical compositions and a method of upgrading domestic animals such as cattle by administering under the skin of said animals a mixture of zeranol and an anabolisant steroid of the formula <IMAGE> I wherein R is alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms and X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, lower alkenyl and lower alkynyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms in which one of the carbon atoms may be replaced with an oxygen atom and acyl of an organic carboxylic acid of 1 to 18 carbon atoms. |
