The equipment which temporarily stores items on roller conveyors, e.g. production tracks, has the rollers spaced apart in the travel direction. It has one or more supporting frames (36) swung into the track (12) between the rollers (14) so that in the loading and unloading position its loading surface lies lower than the roller tops. The frame can be arranged to travel along a closed path (32) in a vertical plane at right angles to the travel direction on the track. There can be a number of frames, mounted at intervals round a rotary ring, whose driven shaft (24) is parallel to the travel direction.
