Diesel engine viscous-hydraulic angular oscillation damper - incorporates heavy ring suspended in fluid springs stressed in one direction
摘要

The oscillation damper for the drive with a small to medium sized high speed diesel engine consists of a ring shaped heavy mass which is mounted with minimum clearance in a ring shaped housing. Damping action is carried out by the viscous shear forces of the fluid in the narrow gaps and by the inertia of the mass. The mass is attached to the housing by C shaped leaf springs which encircle the centreline about which the mass oscillates. The springs are designed and stressed so that the bonding moment over the length of the spring remains of the same sign (i.e. positive or negative).
