<p>Aso dyestuffs devoid of sulphonic acid and carboxylic acid groups and of the formula (I) wherein D is the residue of a carbocyclic aromatic amine D-NH2, D containing as substituent at least one group selected from nitro, cyano, -SO2NR7R8 and -SO2R9 wherein R7 and R8 are hydrogen, an optionally substituted alkyl, aryl or aralkyl and R9 is optionally substituted alkyl or aralkyl with the proviso that when D contains a nitro substituent it does not contain more than one chlorine substituent, R1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, R2 is hydrogen, or alternatively R1 and R2 taken together with the two carbon atoms of the benzene ring to which they are attached form a ring fused to the benzene ring, which ring may contain hetero atoms, R3 is a halogen atom, Y is an alkylene radical, Q? is a cyclammonium, phosphonium, sulphonium, isothiouroniun or aliphatic quaternary ammonium group and X? is an anion. The use of such dyestuffs for the coloration of synthetic polymeric materials in particular polyacrylonitrile materials.</p> |
