The coupling for steel chording units is suitable for cammed steel chording used in stiffening formwork elements in concreting work, with clamp connector engaging both ends of the abutting steel chords on adjacent form elements. The connector uses a helical spindle(30) supported on an upright shank(24) of L-shaped clamping blocks(20). The other shank(22) of these is supported on the connecting stem of the steel chords(10, 12), and fixed to the chords by bolts passed through holes in the chord flanges. The two shanks may be stiffened with reinforcing ribs (48).
