Trailing rear axle support on vehicle - incorporates lower link to form parallelogram with leaf spring

The trailing rear axle suspension system is used on an utility vehicle. It has the axle supported on a short trailing arm (3) on each side, linked to trailing arms (10) connected to the chassis. The arms are extended past the axle (1) to support the lower ends of the dampers (5). The upper part of each axle end is linked to the middle of a leaf spring (13) whose mid-point and forward shackle point (14) form a parallelogram with the trailing arm. The heavy duty suspension is low in profile.
