The central heating system uses circulating water, having a heat source heated by a burner with a fan using liquid or gaseous fuel. The heating circuit is connected to that of the heat source by a mixing valve controlling the temp. and there is a circulating pump in the heating circuit. The heat source (1) is a water heater with minimal water content and the feed and return pipes (3, 7, 11, 4) between it and the heating circuit (10) are passed through a separate vessel (5) functioning as a heat exchanger. A circulating pump (60) is mounted in the supply of return pipe between source and vessel, on which the unions for feed and return pipes are at opposite ends.
