The track, whether for railways, magnetic hover tracks, crane lines or other transport systems, has one or more rails, or parts of a rail, fastened to a rail base, such as a concrete or steel support, with a cast substance below such as cement mortar or plastic mortar. The rail surface towards the cast substance(2) incorporates one or more surface elevations, recesses(11"') or protuberances, aligned along the rail. This same surface may be coated with a thin sliding layer(5). The recesses may be lengthways grooves, or an arrow-shaped groove across full rail width. This makes provision for considerable heat expansion differentials between rail and base, and resists powerful transverse forces.
