The electromagnetic brake control valve has a floating valve element (3) with a central bore (20) to connect the brake circuit (18) of the pneumatic brakes with the venting line (9). The piston is held between two springs and is displaced by a solenoid (14) to control the amount of brake pressure as well as the amount of venting. The valve provides a brake pressure proportional to the amount of solenoid displacement, with a progressive venting flow.
