Disclosed herein are phenicol derivatives of formula I where the variables are as defined herein. Also disclosed is their use for the treatment of infections in mammals, pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds, and methods for the preparation of these compounds. Specific examples of the compounds of formula I are N-((1R,2S)-3-fluoro-1-hydroxy-1-(4-(6-(methyl-sulfonamidomethyl)pyridin-3-yl)phenyl)propan-2-yl)methanesulfonamide and N-((1R,2S)-1-(4-(2-(1-aminoethyl)thiazol-5-yl)phenyl)-3-fluoro-1-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-2,2-difluoroacetamide. |
