<p>PURPOSE:The gas-phase reaction between inexpensive cyclohexene and hydrogen sulfide is conducted in the presence of a catalyst containing metals of Group VIB or VIII in the periodic table to produce high-purity title compound in high yield that is used as a controller for high-polymer polymerization and agent in rubber industry. CONSTITUTION:The gas-phase reaction between 1 mole of cyclohexene and 1-10 moles of hydrogen sulfide is effected at 100-300 deg.C in the presence of a catalyst to produce title compound. The catalyst contains metals of Group VIB or VIII in the periodic table, e.g., metals of Ni, Co, Fe, Cr and so on or their sulfides or oxides, preferably oxides of Co and Mo. The space velocity is preferably 50-100/hr. EFFECT:Said process is a closed system, thus being free of pollution caused by waste water and as substantially no by-product is formed, unreacted raw material is readily recycled with very simple operation.</p> |
