PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a discharge lamp having a plurality of light emitting tubes connecte electrically in parallel within an external tube by commonly using starting resistor connected to auxiliary electrode and connecting the auxiliary electrode at opposite main electrode side via the starting resistor. CONSTITUTION:Two light emitting tubes 1a, 1b contained in an external tube 20 are secured via upper and lower retainers 5 to conductive supporting frame 6 connected with a leaf spring 8. One of the tubes 1a, 1b is connected at the main electrode 2a, 2b to the supporting frame 6 via lead wires 9, 12 and the other is connected at 3a, 3b to a lead wire 15 via the lead wire 10. The auxiliary electrodes 4a, 4b connected in parallel with the main electrodes 3a, 3b are connected to one end of the starting resistor 7 via the lead wires 11, 13 and the other via the lead wire 14 to the frame 6. The frame 6 and the lead wire 15 are connected to stem lead wires 16, 17 sealed with a stem 18. |
