Rotary cutting tool tolerance monitor - has two sensors acting independently against opposite faces of the tool in same transverse plane

The system monitors the tolerances of a rotary cutting tool while it is in operation. The tool is rotated against a stop into a selected angular position while one or more sensors bear against one of the two faces to be checked. Two sensors (12, 13) act in opposite directions in the same transverse plane, in which the angle stop is situated. They function independently of each other each supplying simultaneously an acceptable or unacceptable signal for the face (9, 10) against which it acts. The two signals can be processed and compared in a monitoring unit, discharging the tool to the "acceptable" outlet only if they are both "acceptable".
