Appts. for continuously casting tube from its base upwardly - without the use of central mould core

Appts. for the continuous casting of tubes is operated by pouring liq. metal at a uniform rte into a mould through one of the ends of the mould, the tube so formed being withdrawn from the other end of the mould. The tube forms progressively from a base upwardly, the mould being supplied through its lower end and the height of the liquid in the tube being limited. The mould does not have a central core. Appts. enables tubes to be formed in a coreless mould so that the solidification of metal on the core is avoided. There is no need to use centrifugal force to form the tubes the tubes being formable in diverse forms and with both thick and thin wall sections.
