The safety belt recoil mechanism has two return springs exerting appreciably different torque on its spindle. The action of the stronger spring can be prevented as desired when the belt is unwound and motionless or moving only slowly. The two springs (1, 2) are mounted in series, the first stronger one (1) has one end fixed to the frame and the other to the second one via a link which can move round the spindle. The other end of the second spring (2) is fixed to the spindle. The first spring is locked out of use by preventing the link from turning.
|
