<p>The jig includes a pillar fitted with a horizontal pivot shaft driven by a motor to rotate a jib (a) on a horizontal axis; and jib (a) can pref. be adjusted radially w.r.t. that axis. On the free end of jib (a) is a second motor employed to rotate a clamping plate fitted with rows of holes via which clamping tools can hold a workpiece. In an alternative pref. design, two pillars are used to support a horizontal beam rotated on its axis by one motor; and the beam carries a turntable rotated by a second motor and fitted with a clamping plate for holding workpieces. The clamped workpieces can be moved in a desired path or to a desired position, esp. for welding operations, so the human welder has an easier and safer task.</p> |
