The breaker according to the invention comprises a casing composed of a base 20 and a cover 30 housing several pairs of separable contacts, each comprising a fixed contact and a moving contact. This cover 30 comprises an electromagnet whose coil C and fixed magnetic circuit 62 are housed on the same side as the cover 30, whereas the contact holder is housed on the same side as the base 20. The former 50 and the base 20 are respectively provided with snap-fitting means which cooperate in order to hold the former 50 fast to the base 20 in opposition to the return spring of the moving magnetic circuit 60. The invention makes it possible to considerably simplify the manufacture of the breaker and its assembly in manual or automated stations. <IMAGE>
