PURPOSE:To avoid the generation of large amount of CO, etc., when Oxygen concentration in the atmosphere around the burner of a gas device of a petroleum device becomes low. CONSTITUTION:Near the flame hole 2 of a primary air type gas burner 1, a sensor 6 made of solid electrolyte such as stabilized zirconia, etc., formed in planar shape is provided. On both sides of this sensor 6, platinum electric poles are provided respectively and one surface 7 of it is placed in front of the flame hole 2 in contact with the high Oxygen concentration constituent 8 of the outer flame of the combustion flame and hot air flow around the flame when the burner 1 is acting normally. On the other surface 13 of the sensor 6, a pilot burner 9 is installed so that the low Oxygen concentration constituent 12 of the inner flame of the combustion flame formed at the flame hole 10 may come in contact with said other surface 13. And the safety device is constructed so that both surfaces of the sensor 6 may be heated by reducing flame when Oxygen concentration is lowered and the opening and closing of a safety valve 15 may be controlled by the electromotive force generated between both surfaces of the sensor 6. |
