The earthing arrangement for the switchgear trolley comprises a contact blade (2) which is permanently attached to the floor (1) of the switchgear cubicle, and a contact jaw assembly (7), with spring contact fingers (4), on the bottom of the switch trolley (4). The jaw arrangement (7) is attached to the trolley by clamps (6). As the trolley is withdrawn from, or pushed back into, the cubicle so the earth connection is broken or made without the need to undo any permanent connections or strapping. The jaw assembly can incorporate a guide for easier entry of the blade (2).
