<p>A method and apparatus for husking and drying washed cereals and legumes is disclosed. The kernels or grains with a moisture content of from 5 to 30% are introduced between two plate bodies provided with an elastic coating. The plate bodies rotate with different speeds, and the kernels charged or introduced in the center of the rotating plate bodies are forced or driven towards the edges of said plate bodies at which said plates have a spacing from each other corresponding with the smallest grain diameter, and at which edges the pericarp is removed from the individual kernels by rolling as a result of the different rates of rotation of the plate bodies, and the kernels/husks mixture discharged from said plate bodies is separated by means of suction air.</p> |
