<p>Flow diversion means are provided for a sump or the like which is adapted to collect separately, as run-off liquid from a surface various liquids including a process liquid from a supply pipe. The flow diversion means includes first and second outlet means from the sump and an outlet valve assembly co-operating operatively therewith and operable to place either the first or the second outlet means in liquid communication with the sump. The outlet valve assembly is normally biased to maintain the first outlet means in the closed condition. Control means are further provided which are connected operatively to the supply pipe whereby, upon supply of liquid from the supply pipe, the outlet valve assembly operates automatically to close the second outlet means and simultaneously to open the first outlet means. In this way process liquid entering the sump from the supply pipe will be diverted through the first outlet means. This enables automatic division of polluted liquids to collecting sites where pollution of the environment can be avoided.</p> |
