<p>The bolted clamp(14) fixes a cutting insert(12) to a tool and incorporates a chip-breaking face(18). The position of the clamp relative to the insert is adjustable and indexable. The clamp may be fixed to the end of the tool by a bolt(15) passing through a recessed slot(16), a lateral face(19) of the clamp bearing on a rebated face(20) of the tool. An overhanging edge of the clamp may bear on the insert, the major face of the clamp bearing on a shoulder(13) of the tool.</p> |
