The fastener for necklaces, chains, or bracelets has two parts (2, 3) which are joined to the extremities of the necklace. One part (3) has a hook (7) which hooks into an opening (6) in the outer part (2). A sleeve (1) is then slid over the fastener to make it secure, while leaving the ends of each part (4) free. The sleeve is held in position by flexible rings (9) which fit into grooves (10) in each part of the fastener and into grooves (101) in the sleeve. These rings also limit the sliding of the sleeve to free the fastener.
