PURPOSE:To shorten the heat radiating time of the round rod for contriving the reduction of heat loss, and also, to improve the piercing pitch, by drilling the primary hole providing for the piercing work at the heat end face of the round rod with the primary hole drill followable to the extractor, in the process where the round rod is extracted and conveyed by the extractor. CONSTITUTION:The extractor 2 consists of the slider 4 slidable along the guide rail 3, and the gripper 5 installed at the tip of the slider 4; the gripper 5 is inserted into the heating furnace 1 by sliding the slider 4 of the extractor 2; the gripper 5 grips the heated round rod 6 and is moved backward again; hereby, the round rod 6 is extracted. The primary hole drill 7 installed in the slider 4 approaches the head end 11 of the round rod 6 and stops at a suitable position; after that, oxygen gas from the oxygen gas supplier 9 is injected by the oxygen gas injector 8, and the primary hole 12 is drilled metallurgically. The round rod 6 provided with the primary hole 12 is sent to the piercer by the conveying skid 13 and is pierced. |
