PURPOSE:To form magnetic recording medium of superior running characteristic by providing an ultraviolet ray setting epoxy resin layer containing lubricants on the back side of a film substrate formed with a magnetic layer on the front side. CONSTITUTION:The mixed varnish of epoxy prepolymer and epoxy monomer and a photo setting catalyst (aromatic diazonium salt of halogenide complex producing Lewis acid through radiation of ultraviolet rays) solution are mixed, to which fatty acid ester, quaternary ammonium salt, lubricants such as carbon powder or the like are added to ratios of about 0.01 to 50% based on the epoxy composition, whereby the liquid form composition is obtained. Next, the above liquid form composition is coated on the back side of the film substrate formed with a magnetic layer on the front side, and ultraviolet rays are radiated thereto to allow the resin to set, thereby causing the epoxy resin layers of about 0.1 to 1mu in film thickness to be formed. |
