<p>Metals are sulphurized and, if desired, oxidatively purified by treating the molten metal with oxides of sulphur in the form of salts with or without elementary sulphur and/or sulphides and/or other reducing substances such as coal, coke or silicon by introducing the salts and other substances into the melt in a fine distribution by means of gases which may be gaseous oxides of sulphur, oxygen or air. The salts used may be calcium sulphite, calcium sulphate, nickel sulphate or copper sulphate.</p> |
