PURPOSE:To make it possible to color freely a pattern displayed on a television screen according to program contents of games, by applying a color signal component to a video signal. CONSTITUTION:Program instructions stored in read-only memory ROM 37 are decoded and executed by central processing unit CPU34. Then, the control is carried out by 1st control circuit 42 which reads out data at once from the (n)-number random access memories RAM36 and RAM38 corresponding to data of the (n)- number bits for coloring each picture element. Then, 2nd control circuit 43 controls gate circuit 39 to prevent collision between both data of RAMs 36 and 38 on data bus line 32. A color signal and luminance signal are generated from data of RAMs 36 and 38, and a burst signal is by circuit 52 while horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals are generated by mixer 46; those signals are all mixed by mixer 56 to obtain a video signal, which is RF-modulated by modulator 58 together with a sound signal. |
