Detector for movement of ground supporting rail tracks and roads - uses calibrated rupture element connected to LV circuit, and inclination sensor

The movement of ground supporting railway tracks or roads is detected continuously and automatically by rupture of electrical circuit. Inclination is secured by relative displacement of two elements. The detector consists of two base supports (1, 2) comprising rails which are aligned and which have a terminal (3) at each end. A calibrated rupture element (8) connects between the terminals on adjacent rails to form a circuit with a conductor (5) connected to line (6) carrying current from a low to voltage source (7). An inclination sensor (10) is also connected into the circuit such that warning (9) is given when the inclination exceeds a given value. Alarm is also signalled when the rupture element is activated.
