A circuit for driving a liquid crystal bar graph display unit has a major object to provide a circuit of simple construction, which may be used even when the numbers of block electrodes and segment electrodes are altered. In order to perform this object, the analog value of an input signal is convened to a pulse train of the number proportional to the analog value of the input signal. This pulse train is further divided in frequency by n (where n represents the number of segments per one block) so as to form the pulse train of l/n as compared with the original pulse train. The voltage to be applied to the segment electrodes is further selected in response to the original pulse train and the number of pulses divided in frequency into l/n, and the voltage to be applied to the block electrodes is selected in response to the number of pulses thus divided as above. |
