In order to simplify the connection between the handpiece and angle piece or the shaft (82) and different types of connecting parts (15) of the supply tubes in a dental handpiece, it is proposed that a plug connection be provided. The plug connection comprises a guide peg (87/88) provided on one of the parts (15, 82) to be connected and a drilled hole (85, 86) provided on the other one of the parts to be connected and receiving the guide peg (87/88). The guide peg and the drilled hole have media channels (89, 90, 91; 89', 90', 91') opening between annular gaskets (46, 47, 48) on axially corresponding sites on their circumference. In order to protect the plug connection axially, a quick-action coupling having coupling members (56) which can be brought into and out of engagement radially, is provided on the shaft (82) and the connection part (15). <IMAGE>
