The wiring system has a C-shaped support rail onto which the sockets are fixed via hooked arms engaging behind lips along the edges of the rail. The sockets are connected to a flat cable that sits inside the rail and passes behind the sockets. The electrical units plug into the sockets and are held to them via, e.g screw locking devices. The flat cable, or the wiring in general, in the rail serves to interconnect the units plugged into the sockets. External connections are made to the units themselves, which have screw terminals for the purpose.
