The machine in one embodiment has a driven conveyor for a workpiece (1) to which is to be glued an edging strip, a glue applicator (8) for the edge of the workpiece and/or edging strip, at least one machining appliance (23, 26, 27) for machining the glued-on edging strip, a pressure applying appliance (12) having at least one pressing element (13) arranged between the glue applicator and the machining appliance, and a pressure counter surface (18) for the workpiece. At a certain stage during its travel through the machine, the workpiece together with the glued on edging strip enters a space between the pressure applying appliance and the pressure counter surface and the edging strip is pressed into firm engagement with the workpiece by the pressure applying appliance. For simultaneously applying strips to opposed longitudinal edges of the workpiece, a glue applicator, a machining appliance and a pressure applying appliance are provided on each side of the machine. <IMAGE> |
