A trough or channel type fluorescent lamp reflector manufactured from sheet material, sealed on at least one side by a plastic front wall as at least one protective surface (10) on the upper half of each side of the front wall (1), which is set back by at least the thickness of the reflector (2) sheet material so that the cut edge of the sheet is shielded from the front wall. The surface (10) has a depression (11) with a clip edge against which a tongue attached to the reflector can grip. Each front wall (1) has an inwards directed dome with its rear section in the lower edge region of the reflector.
