In a voltammeter or polarograph which comprises a closed space for receiving the liquid to be measured, a working electrode (7) and a counter- electrode (8) in said space, and means (5) for bringing the liquid into motion, improved sensitivity is obtained by, firstly, positioning the working electrode in a relatively narrow section of the closed space and essentially in the same plane as the wall surface thereof, and, secondly, by bringing the liquid into such motion at the position of said working electrode, that turbulence is produced by means of friction against the wall.
