The confectionery box making machine makes heart shaped boxes with two heart shaped sheets forming the top and bottom and the side from strip material bent to match their shape. The strip mechanism has a pointed bending block (29) for the tip portion and a second block (28) with a double convex end for the top portion. These are moved by a spring loaded reciprocating lever (61) down the middle which acts against a vertical slider (31) with a pointed edge which forces the overlapping ends of the strip into the depression between the two convex curves. This lever is moved by a crank arm (67) with a roller follower (69) which is operated by a cam strip (71) alongside.
